Hidontor

Hidontor (hidontO) is a county in Kulpania, bordered by West Potor to the north, Soutria to the west, Sitontor to the north-east, and ocean in other directions. The county's largest city is Port Hidon, with the county council being situated in this city. The county also has two other major towns, Ucamosu and Gibalon, but these are smaller than Port Hidon.

At the 2016 census, Hidontor had a population of 2,129,887, with Port Hidon having a population of 498,706. Gibalon's population of 131,298 made it the third-largest town in Hidontor in 2016, but it is the country's largest town that speaks a Highland dialect.

History

The county of Hidontor was formed at the formation of the Kindgom of Kulpania, in 1224. Hidontor is quite unusual, in that the shape of the county has not changed at all throughout all of Kulpania's history, where almost every other county is either a different shape or size to its original definition in 1224, or did not exist at all in 1224. From the beginning, Port Hidon was an established port town, hosting what was the country's largest port for most of its history.

In 1330, a small group from the south-eastern Highlands landed on the coast of Hidontor and established a small village. The original population of Gibalon in 1330 was approximately 700, but it quickly gained a reputation across the north of the county for the variety of professions that the residents of the village had. The Highlanders, or 'Aloits' as they called themselves, had learned numerous useful skills from living in the harsh terrain in the north of the country, and they were able to share this with the residents nearby. Consequently, the village's population began to grow as people from neighbouring towns moved in to gain access to the useful services. By 1400, Gibalon had reached a population of 2,000, allowing the Aloit residents to gain a small standing in the county's power division system, giving them more representation. The town continued to grow steadily, and a population of 100,000 was reached in 1973.
