Nintón
Nintón is a town in Kulpania, in southwestern Middex. The town is located roughly twenty miles west of Memmes Bay Isle, and ten miles north of the southernmost town in Middex, Saŋsit. Nintón is the largest town in Middex, and the seat of the Middex County Council is in the town. Despite being the largest town in Middex, Nintón is only the fourteenth largest settlement in Kulpania, behind Port of Micajer on Micajer.
History
Nintón is one of the oldest towns in Kulpania, with records of a settlement on the site dating back as far as 847 CE. At this time, the town had a population of approximately 300, around a thousand times smaller than its current population. By the time that Kulpania was unified, the population of Nintón had reached around 11,000, and as such it was the largest town in Middex. The arrival of the Middex leadership into the town brought large numbers of new residents in from surrounding areas, causing the population to grow to nearly 30,000 by 1450. Around this time, Nintón gained a reputation for being a well-established agricultural trading outpost, and traders from across southern Middex and sometimes neighbouring Tolcator would travel to Nintón to trade agricultural products and livestock. As such, the economy of Nintón could grow easily, allowing the town to support more potential residents.
The town's population continued to grow through the following centuries, reaching 100,000 people in 1812. The growth of Nintón was limited due to its geographical limitations. Travelers heading from the south to the north of Kulpania could not easily pass the town, meaning that throughout Kulpan history Bocoba was the most well-known town in Middex. However, the revolutionary construction of the Memmes Bay bridges in 1885 meant that it was easier for north-south traffic to pass through west Middex and Memmes Bay Isle instead of through northern Tolcator. This meant that Nintón received vastly larger numbers of travelers passing through the town from 1885 onwards, and Bocoba received very small numbers. This shift in long-distance routes meant that Nintón was more able to grow, and it allowed Nintón's population to reach 200,000 by 1932. However, with the construction of CP-1 in 1941, which used the Memmes Bay bridges but did not pass through Nintón, north-south traffic was once again diverted from Nintón. By this time, however, Nintón had already established a reputation, and as such its population continued to grow.
Amenities
Nintón is served by two KulpanRail stations, Nintón Central and Nintón Forest, which see Dutell Trains services running from Saŋsit to Lowtah. Nintón also has a light rail system, which has two lines and thirty-one stops. This light rail system first opened in 1994, with only one line, and line B was completed and opened in 1997. One of the system's stops, Źinhut Road, was opened in 1996 when FC Memmes were promoted into the Kulpan Premier League and consequently their stadium received a vast increase in traffic.
